kurt was shot with pellet gun
Last Saturday, Kurt had a sleep over at a friends house with three other boys. They were playing in the field behind Ackery's house when three teen's (around 13) showed up with pellet guns. At first they seemed nice. Then one pulled a black pistol out from behind him, aimed it at Kurt's face and said,"see if this hurts!" He shoot twice hitting him in the forhead above his right eye and once below his right eye. Kurt said it happened so fast all he could do was watch the pellet come out of the gun and at him. The gun looked real so he didn't know if it was a pellet gun or a real gun. He thought he was dead.
2 Samuel 22:33 – God is my strength and power. He maketh my way perfect.
Psalm 103:4 who redeemeth thy life from destruction.
2 Samuel 22:33- in Hebrew: God is my fortified place, my defence, my fortress, my stronghold AND army, company, great forces, substance. He maketh my walk with integrity, truth, without blemish, complete, full, sincerely, sound, without spot, undefiled, upright and whole.
Psalm 103:4 in Hebrew: Who is my kinship that ransoms, redeems and revenges my age, my maintenance, my running, my life time from destruction, corruption, ditch, grave, pit or trap.
After Kurt’s incident the Lord led me to these two scriptures as comfort. I was more confused than comforted, but like always when He leads me in the word I seek out the true meaning in the Hebrew or Greek.
.. ..
God showed Kurt through prayer that He was beside him, in him, through him, around him….he was Kurt’s fortified place, his defence, his fortress and stronghold. With God’s great forces He did surround him. Was Kurt physically hurt? Yes, but his eye was spared completely as the boy shot right above it and right below it. I don’t believe that boy was a good aim. I believe God kept that eye safe.
.. ..
God helped Kurt walk with integrity, without blemish and spot, upright and whole.

The parents said he never complained. He never fussed. He never lashed out. Praise the Lord! The dad even shot his own hand with the gun to see the amount of pain that Kurt had to suffer. He said it was immense. He couldn’t imagine that in the face twice. He said he was extremely impressed with the way Kurt handled the entire situation. Praise the Lord! What a testimony Kurt was to the other boys and the parents.
.. ..
God proved His word mightily that day! What comfort.
.. ..
God is Kurt’s Kin that has paid the ransom for all he had to endure that day. God who is redeeming Kurt, doing maintenance on him at his age. He doesn’t have to wait to grow up and seek “professional” help to deal with the scares. God is dealing with the wounds right here and right now. So far God has shown Kurt that He was right beside him, in him, around him, through him and too much for Kurt to describe. Now Kurt has the knowledge that his God never leaves him. It is a truth deep inside him now. That truth is becoming a power in him that I can see growing daily. Praise the Lord!

Kurt is learning forgiveness. He always knew to forgive, but this one is the biggest one he has ever had to tackle. God showed Kurt that He was at the boy’s feet, but evil was all around the rest of him. We pray for him to know the Lord more than the small root that he has been taught. For God to move from there and into his heart.

When I read that God revenges it brought me hope. Hope that what the devil meant for evil will definitely be turned into good. We have all learned more about our Father through this experience. And the greatest revenge is that as we all join together and pray for that boy that his life is won for the Lord. Yeah, let’s stick it to the devil real good!
Shared with Kurt's approval. Please continue to pray for us all! Thank you! |
